This is our 30th anniversary!
Hey, Missions Ablaze you are 30
I mean the BIG 30!
Here we are, already in March and nearing the end of the first Quarter of 2025. The Seasons are changing for all of us. Some of our Missionaries have moved on and new ones have joined to assist with our cause of “feeding the poor in Spirit, Soul and Body”. Some Retail Shops are not giving donations anymore and others have opened their doors to us – for which we are grateful. God is Good As usual the Mission has been busy!. Peet, Corinne and their dog Sergeant joined us for a weekend. They both served here many years ago and are continuing their Ministry work of spreading the Gospel in Mozambique. Peet shared his Journey in Faith with our Missionaries . It was lovely to hear about their current work.
Then the Quilt Ladies arrived and donated a beautiful quilt to each of our Ladies and to the Old Age Home here in Tongaat. What beautiful work!

As usual, Missions Ablaze celebrated Thanksgiving with our Dinner where we all got a chance to show our Gratitude for what God has done for us individually during this past year. A time to give, a time to love and a time to reflect on the things that matter most in life
Brenda and I were Blessed to have the 2 daughters and their families here over Christmas – the house came alive with 3 great-grand kids under 3 years!! A joyous time.
Louis and his Many Elves were busy putting up the lights and Christmas decorations all over the Farm – all the more fun as there were children around! We had our Christmas Eve Dinner with the family helping to serve our Missionaries. With the Families help, we were able to buy small gifts for each and also treat them to a day out and breakfast at a Resturant – to show our appreciation for all the work they do during the year.
In December we received a generous donation from one of our friends in USA. We were able to put new tyres on the vans and Tinus and Dewald did some urgent expensive repairs to the vans needing it most.
We also replaced gutters, down pipes and fascia boards on part of the BnB house. This donation helped us with all our December and January expenses as well. What a Blessing.
Some of the Missionaries also attended the Christmas Service at Kings Church in Durban North. Errol and the Congregation have assisted Missions Ablaze with food donations throughout the year. We enjoyed a Service followed by lunch with them As usual, they loaded up the vans with their generous donation.

The Mission stayed open throughout the Christmas time, collecting and distributing out food and clothing. The need is so much greater during that time.
Grace Church sponsored us with 25 Buckets of Hope which we distributed out to individual families in Tongaat and Phoenix who were in need. NG Gesinskerk in Ballito have given us clothing for distribution throughout the year for which we are very grateful.
We currently have Odette, Dumi and his son Jude who are avid gardeners. They are keeping the gardens in shape – an enormous task as the weeds just keep on growing!. Louis keeps our grass short so that when you enter Eagles Rise, you notice the haven of tranquility straight away

In February we received a call from a Charity Organisation in Verulam, Food For Love. They cook up vegetarian meals and Missions Ablaze was asked to collect 10 buckets of food twice a week. What a Blessing. We collect and then deliver out to the Creches, street feeding in Phoenix, Tongaat and other areas. So many are grateful to receive a hot meal as well as Pastor Bobby who assists with the Feeding
Really are you serious!! 30 years in existance?

Late February, Brenda, Dewald and Odette attended the Grace Church Mission Conference in Cornubia. It was a day of Praise, Worship and Fellowship with other Missionaries in our area.
Following onto the course that the Missionaries did last year, they are now going out into various areas of Tongaat on a Saturday to preach the Gospel and pray for the people. This is co-ordinated by Dewald and is a very fulfilling time for them in their journey of Faith. Please pray for them as they minister out.
Our BnB is still ongoing although very quiet at present. It is a very convenient stop-over being so near the Airport. If you know of anyone needing accommodation please pass on the link airbnb.com/h/eaglesrise2
Yes, yes, I said 30, did you hear? Established 1995!
Please continue to pray for Missions Ablaze and for the work that is done here. The need is so great in our area and we are faced with many challenges. Our food donations have dwindled due to the Corporate decisions of some of the big Retail stores and we are having to drive to smaller shops to make up the food needed daily for our beneficiaries. We are really in desperate need of a low mileage van to do this.
On the 1st of June 2025 we will have been in existence for 30 years. I still remember the day when I went into Uncle Trevor Yoko’s office in Springfield Park where I was head of the missions’ department Rhema Bible Church in Durban and they said it was time for me to move out of the church building and into a independent organization that will run missions. While in Matchana, Empangeni, busy building a church, God gave me the name Missions Ablaze and the logo of the eagle rising from the world with a Cross on it and the slogan “We feed the poor” with the mandate of “ The upliftment of the poor and needy in Spirit, Soul and Body”. This all happened before I saw Uncle Trevor.
When we started Missions Ablaze 30 years ago, we rented a farm from Hullets, however after 2 years they wanted it back and decided to show me some farms to buy! We could not buy at that time, when we stopped at #1 Hospital hill rd. an audible voice said to me twice this is your land. So when asked I said: make up the papers we will buy! There was quite a bit of disagreement of what was included in the sale! Yet after 8 months all was settled and the land became ours! Hallelujah!! Thank you Jesus!!
